Learn how to sew the Bardot Bucket Hat

This video course includes step-by-step instruction on making the Bardot Bucket Hat.

The Bardot is reversible, packable for travel, giftable, easy to sew, a scrap buster, quick, customizable, and provides a fun way to show your personality!

Finished Sizes: S, M, and L + a pug / doll size!

  • Small brim measures 3"
  • Med brim measures 5"
  • Extra Wide brim measures 7"
  • Pug size / Doll size brim is tiny so our furry babies can see where they are going. I did add elastic (1/4" width) to the hat so it will stay on.

Fabric Requirements:

Non directional fabric recommended.

Traditional and medium brim (all sizes) require a 1⁄2 yard for exterior and a 1⁄2 yard for lining. You may need more fabric if matching lines or designs, and if you are sewing the extra wide brim you’ll need 3⁄4” yard.

Interfacing:

  • Pellon SF101 all sizes need (20” width) 1 3⁄4 yards
  • Fusible Fleece Pellon 987F : traditional brim: 1⁄4 yard, medium brim 1⁄2 yard, extra wide brim 3⁄4 yard
